Aussie singer-songwriting duo Studio8 - Luke Johnson and Michelle Morgan - are a dynamic musical partnership who live, play and write songs together. With Luke on guitar and vocals, and Michelle on keys and vocals, their music has a timeless, yet contemporary feel, perfectly suited for fans of modern country, Americana and heartfelt storytelling.
Studio8’s first three singles - Red Dirt Rodeo (2023), Back to the Bush (2024) and You Got the Moves (2024) - paved the way for their debut album Into The New (2024), which reached #5 on the ARIA Australian Country Chart. The nine songs on the Album capture the spirit of adventure and discovery that has defined their journey.
They have been busy writing and recording new songs and began working with producer Simon Johnson for their 2025 (and beyond) music releases. New singles Playin’ Country and Two Lonely Cowboys and a half-done Bottle of Rum, both popular on radio and streaming platforms, have enhanced their country music credentials. The Two Lonely Cowboys and a half-done Bottle of Rum music video premiered on Youtube in May 2025, further showcasing the duo’s musical, storytelling and performance skills. Their brand new single Talkin’ ‘bout Us will drop in July and will be backed up by three more singles in 2025.
Studio8 has hit the road again, this time touring regional towns in New South Wales and Queensland, captivating audiences with their live performances. Their chemistry on stage, paired with their intimate and engaging songwriting, has made them a sought-after act at a range of venues and festivals.
Studio8 is dedicated to making music that not only connects with listeners but also reflects their personal journey - from their tree-change years ago to their travels across the Australian outback and abroad. With a bunch of new songs on the horizon, there’s no telling where their music will take them.
