Amigo/Diablo creates serious songs about unserious subjects, and vice-versa. They blend acoustic and guitars, bass, keyboards, and atmospheric soundscapes into modern rock music. Vaguely reminiscent of Wilco, Radiohead, Pearl Jam, Rush, and Dave Matthews Band, Amigo/Diablo alternates between rolling tribal rhythms and driving danceable beats, with powerful harmonies and lyrics that expose the duality of existence. They also write songs about shark movies and werewolves.Tony Poer, Don Anderson, and Steve Caldwell have played and toured for years with other projects, and collectively have released over 15 albums and toured throughout the US and Canada… but this is the first time they’ve joined forces. Forged in 2024, Amigo/Diablo has performed across Northern Arizona, including an invitation to perform at the Get Out The Vote Democratic Rally in Flagstaff with Governor Tim Walz last November. We include this tidbit to let you know that we have clearance from the Secret Service. They looked at our tax returns and everything. We’ll probably write a song about that, too.
