At 402 N Howard Street, the room glimmers with color and warmth as Saudade (Sah-dah-jee) takes the stage. Under the direction of award-winning drummer Claudio Silva, whose music fuses his Brazilian and Dominican heritage, the night unfolds into a soulful celebration of samba jazz—a vibrant mix of groove, joy, and melody. This 6 piece collective featuring, an award winning horn-line with Ian Muñoz on saxophone and Bruno Tzinas on trombone from Miami FL, and then some of the DMV’s best including Steve Arnold on bass, Charlie Reichert-Powell on Guitar, and Roberto Villeda on keys. Claudio brings the vibrant spirit of Brazil to life in a performance that's as dynamic as it is heartfelt.
