Experience glass making magic LIVE!! Right before your eyes I will be creating unique glass blown acorns at our Open House 7.0: Acorn Harvest, Saturday, November 16, 2024 from 12-6pm! Demos start at 1pm!! Squirrels are my favorite animals so naturally I have an affinity for acorns. The tiny acorn is such a significant little creation. Not only does it provide nourishment for my favorite animal, it symbolizes how hard work pays off over time. Nestled deep within its core is the potential for a great feat! As a tiny seed, the acorn is sustained by the earth and the warmth of the sun. It goes through many stages and endures many seasons and if it is strong enough, it grows into a majestic oak! I think it's such an accurate metaphor for life. You can do anything you put your mind to when you nourish your soul, feed your strengths, and believe in your capacity for greatness. I have strived to live my life by this philosophy and have finally begun to see the fruits of my labor, my very own glassblowing studio! It still feels surreal but I am so grateful that all my sacrifices and hard work have started to pay off in dividends. I hope these acorns I create will serve as a reminder to all that mighty things can come from humble beginnings and with enough time, determination, and endurance, something profound can be created and anything is possible!
Acorns of various sizes will be available in the gallery and I will once again attempt to create some big dogs for the demos! It will be another entertaining adventure, I promise! There's plenty of pumpkins left too! Annnnd I still have some clearance glass for sale so look for the colored tags in the gallery!
