In the heart of winter when the shadows grow long from the low sun on the horizon, the creatures of the dark are called out to dance by the beat of drums and the blinking lights of the pulsating synthesizer. Join music duo Eleagnus and shadow puppeteers Lavender Buds for a journey into the strange fissures of our collective being. The light within the overhead projector will be your guide

Eleagnus is a performance project born of the alluvial plain at the eroding edge of blue ridge mountains. An experimental stew of art/punk/dance/poetry delivers theatrical antics and rhythmic cadences for dancing with the shadows of post-industrialization. Eleagnus writes songs to and with the multi-species inhabitants of disturbed landscapes from a place of deep connection, and brings the audience with them to the compost piles and junk heaps of the forest. For this performance, Eleagnus will be collaborating with artists Lavender Buds who will be live projecting cut paper and experimental shadow puppets that coincide with the music.
