Influenced by the sounds and stories from the likes of Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones, Bob Marley, John Prine, and various classic blues artists, lifelong songwriter Andrew Morse formed his first band, The Little Devils, at age seven. In the five decades since, he's played rock & roll, blues, country and folk music in places ranging from Zurich, Switzerland to Austin, Texas, from Huntsville, Alabama to Seattle, Washington where he played The Orca Freedom Concert, 'Kiss the Sky!' with Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Country Joe McDonald, Arielle, and Heart with special guest Graham Nash.
In 1983, he formed Nice Boys From New York, which included the late Howie Wyeth on piano, releasing two independent albums (1990's Countrytime and 2007's Hotel Bretton Hall) and touring Europe. 1998 saw the release of his first solo album, Nightbook, a collection of 12 originals played acoustically, followed in 2004 by Double Crosstown, an opus of 70s rock in the style of Lou Reed, The Stones, Dylan, and Iggy Pop.
For the past 10 years, Morse has led The Tasty Kings, a New York City collective of all-stars named after a now-defunct Chinese restaurant on the Lower East Side of Manhattan.
Implementing a rotating cast of world-class musicians, many from Texas, Morse hit the ground running with the rollicking Americana groove of Old Lockhart Highway before diving into the heart of the blues on 2020's Seven Nights to Rock.
In 2023, The Tasty Kings issued Native Tongue, which featured veteran vocalist Blondie Chaplin, known for his work with The Beach Boys, Brian Wilson, and The Rolling Stones, on all ten tracks, stand-outs, "Done & Dusted," "Steady Reggie," and "Maybe I'm a Queen," generating airplay and acclaim.
