An Evening of Music at Brookshire FarmOn Sunday April 27th, at 4PM, we will be hosting a Viola recital in the music room here at the farm. The concert will feature David Rose, viola, and Sean Duggan, organ and piano, whom are both on the faculty at SUNY Fredonia.
David and Sean will perform the Shostakovich Viola Sonata, which was the last work he wrote. This is the 50th anniversary of the composition of the Sonata as well as of Shostakovich’s death. In addition, David and Sean will perform one of the Brahms sonatas for viola and piano, as well as a Bach viola da gamba sonata. For the viola da gamba sonata, Sean will play the Noack Opus 155 pipe organ that you may have seen if you have visited the farm.
Tickets for the event are $50 each and are very limited due to space. There will also be a reception following the concert with light hors d'oeuvres.
