A benefit concert by mostly Montreal musicians to salute the 40th anniversary of Live Aid. Proceeds to MotherFood International, a Montreal based nonprofit organization dedicated to combating child and maternal malnutrition worldwide.The brainchild of Bob Geldof, Live Aid brought together some of the biggest names in music for over 12 hours at Wembley Stadium in London and JFK Stadium in Philadelphia on July 13, 1985. The set by Queen was epic. Other standouts included U2, The Who, Elton John, Phil Collins, Dire Straits, Simple Minds, Hall & Oates w/ Eddie Kendrick & David Ruffin of The Temptations, The Four Tops, The Pretenders, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers and so many others.
Join us as Juno winner Dawn Tyler Watson, Shane Murphy, Steve Hill, Jonas, Jake Clemons, The Alternative All Stars featuring Howard Bilerman, Dan Boeckner of Wolf Parade, Tim Kingsbury of Arcade Fire and Patrick Stickles of Titus Andronicus, East Coast rocker Adam Baldwin, James Correa, Jasmine Bleile, Felicity Hamer and Jason Rockman perform iconic songs from the original Live Aid concert in the historic art deco La Grande Salle. More artists will be announced shortly.
The house band features Rob MacDonald on guitar, Alec McElcheran on bass & vocals, Dan Legault on drums and Yves Frulla, who recorded and toured with Celine Dion, on keys.
