Liv Strömquist

Liv Strömquist (*1978 in Lund, Sweden) is considered the most influential comic artist of our time. She studied political science and has regularly drawn for various Swedish magazines and newspapers, as well as worked as a radio host. Her non-fiction comics are among the most successful graphic novels worldwide. Her works, translated into numerous languages, reflect her political stance as well as her sociological interest in feminist and pop-cultural phenomena. With biting humor and sharp criticism, they challenge existing social power structures and taboos.
In her latest work The Oracle Speaks, Strömquist turns her attention to the pervasive drive for self-optimization—and to why this promise so often leads to dissatisfaction.
