Good Friday commemorates the Passion of Christ. On this day, Jesus was denied by his friends and handed over to die. On Good Friday, we honor Christ’s death with a moment of prayer and silence. Good Friday is called ‘good’ because we know this is not the end of the story.
The Good Friday liturgy of the Lord’s Passion commemorates the Passion of Christ. During the liturgy, the people will come forward to venerate a crucifix, recalling Christ’s death for our salvation. The tradition dates back to the late 4th century when, according to legend, Helen, the mother of Constantine, discovered the true cross in Jerusalem.

El Viernes Santo conmemoramos la Pasión de Cristo. En este día, sus amigos lo negaron y él fue condenado a morir. A las 3:00 de la tarde de hoy recordamos con profundo recogimiento la muerte de Cristo con oración y silencio. Es un día santo porque Jesús padeció su sacrificio redentor para salvar al género humano y sabemos que este no es el final de la historia.
La liturgia del Viernes Santo conmemora la Pasión de Cristo. Durante la liturgia, el pueblo se acercará a venerar un crucifijo en memoria de la muerte de Cristo por nuestra salvación. La tradición se remonta a fines del siglo IV cuando, según la leyenda, Santa Elena, madre del Emperador romano Constantino, descubrió la verdadera cruz de Cristo en Jerusalén.
