About Little Picassos:
Where KC kids learn that feelings are messages. Every month at Little Picassos we gather children and families to explore one emotion at a time — not to fix it, not to suppress it, but to understand it. To name it. To make something out of it. And to leave knowing that whatever they felt when they walked in was never something to be ashamed of. This is emotional literacy through art. And it changes things.
How it works:
Each session centers on one primary emotion from the E3 — Empower Through Emotion Education — framework. A featured local Kansas City artist joins us each month to guide children through a hands-on creative experience built around that emotion. The art is the vehicle. The feeling is the lesson.
Children explore where the emotion lives in their body, what it might be trying to tell them, and how it can show up in big ways or small ways or surprising ways they did not expect. As well as the emotions that can come alongside other emotions because we hardly ever feel just one thing. Together we feel, explore, and learn.
This month — FEAR
We are exploring fear with local KC artist Freedom Rayez in what promises to be one of our most powerful sessions yet. Fear is not the enemy. It is a messenger — and this month we are going to find out what it has been trying to say.
Who is this for:
Children of all ages are welcome. Caregivers stay and participate — this is a community experience, not a drop-off program. First timers are always welcome and no prior art experience is needed. Ever.

Little Picassos × The Agape Embrace:
Little Picassos is a monthly program of The Agape Embrace, a Kansas City community organization built on access to resources, emotional literacy, and embodied processing through skills and habits. Each session is held at AiZen Root Remedy right off Troost in Kansas City in partnership with local artists who generously share their craft and their community with our families.
We are building something here — one emotion at a time, one child at a time, one family at a time.
