About this Event
When was the last time you had a full, uninterrupted evening to just be you?
You love your kids. But you also love dinner without someone asking for a snack. You love your partner. But date nights don't happen the way they used to. You love being a parent in San Diego — and you deserve to actually enjoy it.
Finding a babysitter is a project. Asking family is a favor. And most "kids night out" programs drop your child in a gym with pizza and call it a night.
You want more than childcare. You want to feel good about dropping them off.
Little Makers, Big Night Out is a monthly, drop-off art and wellness evening for children ages 4–12 at our studio in Liberty Station. Every session is designed by a licensed clinical psychologist and visual artist — and your kids will spend three hours making real art, building emotional skills, and having the kind of fun that's actually good for them.
While they're creating, you have the evening. All of it.
What Your Kids Experience:
- A themed art project tied to a social-emotional learning skill (think courage, mindfulness, belonging, calm, gratitude)
- A snack break with free creative play
- A gallery walk where kids share their work with the group, building confidence out loud
- A take-home artwork they'll actually be proud of
- A conversation card for you to use on the drive home (one question, one connection)
What You Get:
- Three full hours with no pickups, no snack runs, no "Mom, watch this"
- Liberty Station is right outside our door: dinner, a walk, a glass of wine, whatever you need
- The knowledge your child is with a clinically trained team, not just a babysitter
- A standing monthly ritual that puts your wellbeing on the calendar, not just theirs

About My Good Brain
My Good Brain is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded by Dr. Danessa Mayo, a licensed clinical psychologist and visual artist. Our mission is simple: mental wellness through art and play. We believe that when children have space to create, they grow in ways that matter — and when parents have space to breathe, the whole family wins.
Every Little Makers session is facilitated by our resident artist and program team, with a max of 16 children and a 1:8 adult-to-child ratio. Pre-registration required. Drop-off only.
