A Surf Competition for KIDS of ALL ABILITIES, every child it is more of a showcase than a competition and a display of their awesome.
About this Event

The world's first and only truly fully inclusive surf competition for Groms! More of a celebration of awesome, where the winner is the surfer having the most fun.

This is the first Inclusive Surf Competition Event of its Kind, now in its 4th Year. This year is extra special as we will be filming a storytelling series, highlighting the stories of our athletes who are the essence of GNOME. Come tell your story & stoke.

We believe that all kids, regardless of abilities, should be able to compete for the title of Grom Champion. This is a celebration showcase where everyone WINS! Overall scoring champions will receive Trophies and a 2027 Gnome Athlete Sponsorship. The top scorer will also receive a brand new surfboard courtesy of Catch Surf. The scores are based on who is having the most fun, not on skill level.

Competition will be split into 3 Divisions: (Grouped by Age: 10 & Under, 18 & Under. Each Athlete will have an allotted time to display their surf skills, bravery, and style.

Tandem Division- Athlete and Instructor Team will ride the waves in Tandem.

Assisted Division- The Instructor will assist the Athlete with positioning, wave choice, and push into the wave, but the Athlete will surf the wave on their own.

Freestyle Division- Solo Surfing, no assistance from instructors.

Be the winners of the very first Ohana award and bring home the trophy for Best Fam & Friends Squad.

A panel of judges will judge each wave the Athlete catches. Their top 5 scores (waves) will be averaged into their final score. In the event of a tie, the total of all waves will be accounted for in the average to break the tie. Highest Score, Style, Bravery, and Stoke will determine the winners.

All Athletes will receive a Certificate of Awesome, an Official Event T-shirt, and a Limited Edition Little Legends sticker.

6 champions will be crowned. Each champ will be chosen from each Division, broken down by age group. Each champion will receive a Gnome Sponsorship for 2027, which includes limited custom swag and a free surf session as well as a swag pack from our sponsors. We will also award second and third place in each category. The top overall score will receive a new Catchsurf Beater Shortboard. Be the best support unit aka family & friends cheer squad and win bragging rights.

Come build friendships and deepen your connections to the Gnome Family for an afternoon of fun on the waves. This is always an epic beach day and end of season showcase with music, art, sign making, and vendors.
