Little City Biggish Band Open Rehearsal! with Matt Kowalski
Join composer Matthew Kowalski and a group of talented friends and collaborators for an open rehearsal of the Little City Biggish Band—a creative, exploratory ensemble that brings together improvisers, composers, and thinkers from Providence’s vibrant music community.
This isn’t just a rehearsal—it’s a chance to witness the real-time process of collaborative music-making, where the relationships between players shape the direction and feel of the work. Matt’s compositions often grow out of personal connections with fellow musicians, and this open session reflects his interest in music as a tool for solidarity, communication, and shared expression.
Expect moments of structure, spontaneity, experimentation, and conversation—not just between instruments, but between people. Whether you're a fellow musician, a curious listener, or someone interested in how technology and art intersect in live performance, you're invited to come listen, observe, and be engaged.
