LitFest: Creative Workshops

IN THE LEARNING ZONE @ PONTEFRACT CASTLE

Wakefield LitFest are holding free creative workshops for young people aged 14 – 25 years, designed to provide aspiring writers with the skills to expand their imagination.

These workshops aim to help writers create initial ideas for their narrative poems on original myths and legends inspired by Wakefield, to encourage them to apply for one of 12 LitFest commissions where their writing will be published in our annual zine and has the chance to be performed either by the writer themselves or another artist. Writers will work alongside many local creatives, such as actors, illustrators and theatre practitioners to make their mythical creations come to life.
