About this Event

A mixed bag showcasing a diverse range of creative individuals who have lived and worked in the Holloway area across the centuries.

Learn about innovators and inventors, diarists and dandies, punks and painters, space travel and sport.

We'll visit locations associated with poets, playwrights, musicians, artists and thieves – some names you might already know but other lesser-know yet fascinating characters will likely be new to you and I hope you want to find out more.

  • The walk starts not far from Holloway Road tube station and lasts just under two hours
  • The exact meeting point will be clearly described on your ticket and confirmation – for more info, please see the FAQs below
  • We finish near Upper Holloway station / five minutes' walk from Archway tube station.

Customer feedback: "My mother and I loved this walk. It was wonderful to return to Holloway after so many years away and hear about people and places I had no idea about back when I was a child." / "That was great Jane. I have often wondered about the names of some of the roads around here " / "I love how you point out all the little quirks and make it so much more interesting than other academic-style guides. And you make it fun too." / "Excellent – We will be booking more tours with you. Thanks again." / " I love your jolly style" / "My favourite guide" / "I have often wondered about that record shop and I had no idea about the book fraud – amazing!" / More feedback here

My guiding style is inclusive, open and friendly. I design and research every tour myself – in fact, the research never ends. The walks and talks I offer are all on subjects that intrigue me and each one highlights a different facet of my personality. I am particularly interested in the architecture of our ever-changing streets and the little details on and above them. For more information, please visit www.janeslondonwalks.com
