Listening to Your Body: A TCM Guide to Everyday Self-Care
About this Event
Living with a chronic illness often means becoming more aware of your body's changing needs. Some days you feel energised, while on others, fatigue, digestive discomfort or pain can appear without warning. Learning to recognise these patterns early and responding with care can become an important part of everyday life.
In this interactive session, discover how Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) views health, resilience and the body's natural ability to maintain balance. Rather than replacing conventional medicine, TCM offers another perspective on understanding your body and developing sustainable self-care habits that can complement your overall wellbeing.
Through the O.U.C.H. Framework, you will learn how to:
- Observe what your body may be telling you through everyday signs and symptoms.
- Understand simple TCM principles and how they relate to energy, digestion and overall wellbeing.
- Care for yourself with practical techniques such as acupressure, gentle qigong movements and commonly used herbs.
- Harmonise these practices into realistic routines that fit around work, family and daily life.
Whether you are newly diagnosed, have been managing a chronic condition for years, or simply want to better understand your body, this session offers practical tools to help you build a more intentional and sustainable approach to self-care.
Suitable for people living with chronic illness, caregivers and anyone interested in learning how TCM principles can support everyday wellbeing alongside their existing healthcare journey.
