Listen to Maryland:
Fighting for Gaza and the power of voting ‘Uncommitted’
Maryland’s May 14th Democratic primary will be a chance to make your voice heard and protest Biden’s continued support for Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza. Join us to learn more in this important panel discussion.
- Laila el-Haddad, Author & Journalist
- Del. Gabriel Acevero, House of Delegates, District 39 – Montgomery County
- Hebah Kassem, Political Strategist & Climate Justice Activist
- Josh Paul, Former State Department Director
Local residents will share their experiences advocating for Palestine and for an end to the genocide in Gaza. As Palestinians and allies, they’ll discuss the challenges of fighting for change through different means, including politically from the inside, politically from the outside, and through connecting Palestinian liberation with broader struggles including for racial and climate justice.
The event takes place just days before early voting begins for Maryland’s primary, for which panelists and other advocates support an “Uncommitted” vote in the Democratic presidential race as another way to advocate for policy change.
Andy Shallal, founder and CEO of Busboys and Poets, will open the program.
