Lion & the Rose: Benefit Concert for GEME Foundation & Museum of Humanity
About this Event
About the Concert
Join us at Museum of Humanity in Zaandam for a benefit concert with Lion & the Rose, a duo that creates an authentic, emotionally charged live experience. Through beautifully crafted harmonies and bold crossovers between rock, soul, blues, jazz, americana and pop, Léon and Roswitha shape a distinctive sound that feels both untamed and intimate.
With original songs that tell personal life stories, carried by dynamic guitar playing, the duo invites audiences on a musical journey that is at once deeply moving and full of energy. Before they met and fell in love, Léon and Roswitha each followed their own musical path, performing in bands across the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium and Portugal. Years of stage experience and a shared passion for songwriting now come together in Lion & the Rose, where their musical worlds merge into one unique artistic voice.
Connected by love and artistic curiosity, Lion & the Rose unite two musical worlds into one powerful sound: honest, eccentric and created to touch the heart.
Doors open at 19:00, show starts at 19:30. Grab your tickets and come experience it live.

About Lion & the Rose
From an early age, Léon shaped music in his own way, drawing rhythm and sound from anything he could get his hands on. What began on the streets, spitting rhymes, singing and playing trumpet, grew into powerful live performances where he developed his signature blend of raw rock energy, a deeply soulful voice, improvisation and multi-instrumental flair. In his late twenties he picked up the guitar and made it his own, so he could accompany himself while singing his songs.
Roswitha grew up in a musical family, inspired by her father's love of The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Ray Charles and traditional Irish folk. As a teenager she picked up the guitar and poured her feelings into songs. She later completed her studies at the Frank Sanders Akademie for Musical Theater in Amsterdam (2010) and worked as a musical theatre teacher and vocal coach, and her passion for songwriting and finding her own voice ultimately led her to Léon.
