6-Week Lino Printmaking Course
Whether you've always wanted to try lino printing or you're looking to develop skills you already have, this friendly 6-week course is a wonderful opportunity to explore the creative possibilities of printmaking. Working in a relaxed and supportive environment, you'll be guided through each technique step by step, making the course suitable for complete beginners as well as those with some previous experience.
Over the six weeks, you will learn:
- Traditional lino carving techniques, including mark-making and block printing skills
- Black and white lino printing
- Multi-block colour lino printing
- Chine collé – a beautiful printmaking technique developed in the 19th century that uses delicate oriental papers to create richly layered prints
Each week you'll learn a new technique and have plenty of time to experiment, develop your skills, and create artwork inspired by your own interests, photographs and ideas. There is lots of opportunity for individual guidance, so you can work at your own pace while developing your own creative style.
By the end of the course, you'll have produced a collection of beautiful hand-printed artworks, along with your own carved printing blocks to keep and print from again and again at home. You'll leave with the confidence, skills and inspiration to continue exploring printmaking long after the course has finished.
