About this Event
Embrace the spirit of Beltane - also known as May Day - with a relaxed and creative lino printing workshop inspired by the tradition of celebrating the changing seasons. In this small, beginner-friendly session, you’ll use lino printing to create a beautiful printed garland to decorate your home for spring into summer.
Beltane marks the turning of the seasons - when flowers bloom, days grow longer, and communities historically gathered to celebrate light, growth, and creativity. During this workshop we’ll take inspiration from classic Beltane imagery such as flowers, leaves, ribbons, suns, and folk motifs.
With printmaker and illustrator Abbie Lois, you’ll design and carve your own lino, then use it to hand print a series of decorative paper garlands which will be strung together into a garland to take home and adorn a wall, mantlepiece or window.
Perfect for those who love honouring folk traditions, curious lino print beginners, and creatives looking to try something new - this session offers a calm and encouraging introduction to the art of relief printmaking. No prior experience is needed!
