This class will cover the design and creation of a vignette painting in line and wash. Vignette is a term meaning “incomplete” where areas of the paper will remain blank. The vignette is an entertaining design not only for the painter but for the viewer. Vignettes have sparkle even though they look unfinished. The drawing will be done in line and wash using a wooden match and permanent ink. This method of drawing and painting is said to make the creation of a painting easier. In the morning, Paul will explain the important facets of this painting design and demonstrate the different details to be considered.
