A 3.5 hour intense but fun workshop, focusing on the fundamental techniques and styling of the 1930’s Charleston steps, taking you from the very roots of Lindy to today’s perception of the dance.
Our Fundamentals workshops are suitable for those within their first year of learning Lindy Hop, those who have completed our beginner cycle(s) and also the more advanced dancers, wishing to return to consolidate and refine their basic techniques.
Fundamentals II covers some of the key 1930’s Lindy Charleston moves.
Applicants for this workshop, will have already learnt Basic 8 Charleston, Tuck Turns, Hand to Hand Cross Kicks, Tandem Charleston, Lunges and Turns.
In Fundamentals II you’ll cover a range of steps and you should leave the workshop with a clear understanding of lead/follow social dancing techniques, body movement and style to make you more confident on the social dance floor.
In addition, Joseph & Charlotte will be sharing the history of the dance throughout the workshop.

Please feel free to bring your own water bottles which you can refill in the kitchen and you are welcome to bring your own snacks.

PARKING:
Parking is free at the Church, or you can use Sutton Road, Kings, Queens or Palace car parks. We recommend arriving early to guarantee a space.
AFTER WORKSHOP ACTIVITIES:
Harlem Nights social dance will follow the the workshops at 8pm. In between this time we will grab a bite to eat in the town centre before dancing the night away.
