For those who didn’t get the pleasure of meeting her, or hearing her story. I’d like to take a moment and share just a little. Linda Joy (Lin) IYKYK- worked in Charlotte at Novant Presbyterian Hospital. She worked in the ED overnights as a phlebotomist and loved her co workers & what she did. Linda also worked PT at Cycle Gear in Matthews, NC. She loved to draw/sketch and was an amazing artist. A small sample of her artwork is on my Jeep! Linda also loved her cat, Sheeba. (Seen in the photo on the flier). Linda’s favorite color was a royal blue shade. Her favorite flowers are Sunflowers. Linda loved sunrises, gaming, spending time with loved ones and riding her K-636.
Linda was heading to her fiancée’s home the night the accident occurred, where 4 days later she tragically succumbed due to her horrific injuries. Even in her passing she was selfless. Linda on her own became an organ donor, and on Saturday, April 20, 2024; just 9 days after we celebrated her 22nd birthday at Casa Nueva, she took her last walk. The Honor Walk where that evening she saved 3 other people’s lives.
The ride takes place on a very special day. It’s what would have been her 24th Birthday. We do this ride to honor her amazing but short life and bring Motorcycle Awareness to the community
.
We are going to be doing a 50/50 raffle this year. It will be CASH ONLY (no apps) & you must be present to win. Ticket sales are as follows for the 50/50-
1-$3
3-$5
5-$10
10-$20
ALL proceeds will go to Saving Southern Kitties. They are a 5013C Non-Profit Organization who’s goal is to take care of all who enter their facility. The winner of the 50/50 will be announced at Casa Nueva in Hartsville, SC before we head in to eat. If you don’t wish to do the 50/50 please go to their website as they make giving a donation easy. We just ask you please put ‘In honor of Linda Joy Kerton’.
The ride is approximately 60 miles. We will have the amazing assistance of Monroe P.D. once again to escort us from Target to the 601 turn off. From there we are on our own to our final destination, located in SC.
We will obey ALL traffic laws and all participants ride at their own risk.
Our ride to Casa Nueva will take us past the cemetery; which is her final resting place. Her bench will be decorated with balloons and visible from the road. We will slow down but we will NOT stop for safety concerns. As we head further south we will pass what we now call *Linda’s Place* at 151 & Old Creek Rd where the accident occurred. Once again, we will go slow but will NOT stop due to safety concerns.
The ride will end there after at the Mexican restaurant, Casa Nueva where those who completed the ride will get a specially designed decal in honor of Linda Joy & to bring about Motorcycle Awareness.
Our family would like to thank you for taking the time to read and hopefully join us in honing our beautiful daughter, our sons sister and granddaughter to those whom loved her most. Thank You again &
