Lincoln Park Walking Tour
About this Event
Join Chicago for Chicagoans for a walking tour of Lincoln Park, covering neighborhood history, architecture, and current developments.
REGISTRATION AVAILABLE AUGUST 30TH
Chicago for Chicagoans is delighted to bring back our two-hour walk through the busy and beautiful streets of Lincoln Park with longtime resident Olivia Sobieraj! Olivia is a marketing professional and enthusiastic local history lover who is thrilled to be sharing the stories of her home neighborhood with fellow Chicagoans.
Beginning at the Children's Fountain, the tour will cover the history, architecture, and landmarks of this notable community. Learn about its early days as the city cemetery, see lavish Victorian architecture and vintage park structures, and discuss the gentrification struggles of midcentury and modern residents alike. The afternoon will end near Daly's Donuts, where participants are encouraged to enjoy a tasty treat with the group!
Chicago for Chicagoans happily exists as a "pay-what-you-can" tour service. A suggested tip of $10-20 per person is always appreciated, but reviewing us on Yelp, liking us on Facebook, spreading the word, and attending future tours tells us how much you love us too! We are a certified 501(c)(3) nonprofit that creates inclusive walking tours by & for Chicago residents, designed to represent the histories of all Chicagoans.
