On Sunday April 13, come join Road Captain A. D. Sanford on a journey into Kentucky to visit The First Lincoln Memorial at Abraham Lincoln Birthplace located in Hodgenville, KY. TheMemorial Building at Abraham Lincoln Birthplace National Historical Park was constructed 11 years before the Lincoln Memorial in Washington D.C. Born in a one-room log cabin on his
father's Sinking Spring Farm on Sunday, February 12, 1809, Abraham Lincoln's early years on the Kentucky frontier helped to shape his character and prepare the boy who would grow up to
become the 16th President of the United States to lead the nation through the tragic and turbulent times of the Civil War. His legacy of liberty and equality remains relevant today and continues to impact people around the world.
From the Lincoln Memorial we will ride a short distance to Joel Ray’s Lincoln Jamboree Family Style Restaurant for a Huge Sunday Lunch Buffet. $10.99 for Adults $9.99 for Seniors & All Military. Fried Chicken on the Bone, Country Ham, Chicken & Dumplings, Pork BBQ or Manager's Meat Choice Served With One Trip to Salad Bar, 2 Homemade Vegetables & 1 Bread Of course you can order off the menu and even have a hearty Breakfast.

After Lunch, we will head over to Abraham Lincoln's Boyhood Home also in Hodgenville, KY in
the Knob Creek Area. (Sound Familiar?) He wrote in 1860 “His earliest recollection is of the
Knob Creek Place”.
Saddle Time to the Lincoln Memorial is about 3 1/2 hours with a stop enroute in Tompkinsville, KY for a short break. We will spend about 45 min to an hour at the Memorial, then shove off to
the Lincoln Jamboree for lunch. After lunch, a short ride to the Lincoln Boyhood Home. Here we will spend 30-45 minutes, then we will ride the wind back towards Cookeville meandering
through the woods through Celina winding up in Livingston for an end of ride Ice Cream Stop at Dairy Queen. Total expected ride and stop time 8 hours.
