Limerick Food Partnership The Food Finder

We are creating a resource entitled “The Food Finder, Mapping Limerick’s Food Environment”. This resource will investigate the key drivers of food poverty, including economic, social, environmental, and systemic factors. It will investigate where and how people access food and the types of food available. It will examine what obstacles people face when accessing food and provide insights into how current community food programs may be supported and expanded if required.

The project involves designing maps of where and what kind of food can be bought or accessed in the community/voluntary sector. This will describe the food environment in Limerick. These maps will be informed by information provided to us from people like you who take part in the project.

Learning about the food environment in Limerick City & County will help us see what makes it easy or hard for people to find healthy food choices.

Refreshments and a light lunch will be served. Participants will receive a completed map of their area, using current demographic information, pobal data and access to food near to your community organisation.
