The next meeting of the Lilium & Bulb Society of SA will be held on Wednesday, May 6 at the Aldgate Village Well (54 Strathalbyn Road, Aldgate), at 7pm for 7.30pm.Our guest speaker will be Society member Kerin McKay, (@Kerin’s Bulbs) speaking about collecting Australian and South African bulbs. Those of you who know Kerin, will also know that he has collected Australian Crinum and Calostemma in many regions and that he has an extensive collection of South African Amaryllids. Many on the impossible to get list now that seed importation is nigh on impossible!
Kerin will share his experience, collecting and cultivating these bulbs, including his experience in growing bulbs in pots, and the various growing media he uses and also his secrets for the construction of raised beds to grow winter-wet sensitive bulbs in the ground.
Visitors are welcome to enjoy the presentation and stay on for supper.
Remember to bring:
• a little cash in case you are tempted by the $5 raffle or plant and book sales table. EFTPOS is available for sums over $10.
