Lila Hudgins, who grew up surfing and painting on Panama’s Pacific coast from ages two to eighteen, draws inspiration from Central American landscapes, climate, and flora. Her work features intricate plant-scapes, surf scenes, and idealized beach paintings that reminisce about her upbringing. A University of Michigan senior, Lila is active in the Ann Arbor art scene, having participated in the Guild of Artists and Artisans’ Emerging Artist program and the Kerrytown Artisan Market. Her work has been featured in the Gutman Gallery, Makeshift Gallery, various university and Ann Arbor exhibitions, and the 2025 Ann Arbor Street Art Fair, the Original.
