Because of light pollution, the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex is the third most dangerous area in the United States for migratory birds to travel through. With spring migration season coming soon, learn about the Lights Out! DFW project, their research in avian health and ecology, and the ways in which you can help create safer travels for nocturnally migrating birds.

Lights Out, DFW! is a flagship program of the statewide Lights Out, Texas! campaign, targeting non-essential lighting in the DFW metroplex. Aiming to ensure a darker night sky, all business owners and residents are encouraged to go lights out during bird migration seasons.
Texas Conservation Alliance (TCA) is a 53-year-old non-profit conservation organization with a history of success securing prominent wildlife protections and advancing leaders in the conservation movement. It is the Texas affiliate of the National Wildlife Federation and coordinates a network of 50 organizations.
