Lights Down Low: SAZÓN - R&B Neo Soul+ Concert Series

Arciniega Street proudly presents the Season 5 premiere of our concert series LIGHTS DOWN LOW

This R&B Neo-Soul series features a rotation of different local artists and live bands with a uniquely curated setlist in an intimate listening room setting. For our first show of 2026, we're excited to welcome back LDL alumni and our friends from the band SAZÓN!

SAZON is a neo-soul funk band featuring the talents of an incredibly seasoned (pun intended) group of local musicians: vocalist Denali Romero, drummer Kengo Nagaoka, bassist Garrett Monroe, guitarist Levi Betz, and Vic Nichols on keys subbing in for saxophonist Josh Antonio. Their band name literally means flavor and seasoning - both very uniqur and necessary things they bring to the already booming Anchorage music scene. You may recognize this group from shows around the state, including Circumpolar Sounds, VanStock, Spenard Jazz Fest, and several headlining shows.

SAZON originally came together as a backing band for Denali's second Lights Down Low feature several summers ago - but shortly thereafter, a real dynamic band was born and they've been jamming ever since. They create on a foundation of funk, neo-soul, and intricate jazz rhythms and collaborative art. SAZON will be performing an eclectic set featuring both covers and original songs, including songs from their EP "Five Spice".
