Lighthouse Back to School Picnic 2026-2027

We are starting off Lighthouse's 30th year with a big picnic!
Whether your family is new to Lighthouse or has been with us for many years, our back to school picnic is the perfect time to connect with new and old friends, learn about all that Lighthouse has to offer, and share a treat with everyone.
Date: Friday, August 21st
Time: 5:30pm - 7:30pm
Place: Forest Ridge Park - 2100 Old North Carolina 98 Hwy, Wake Forest, NC 27587

Whose invited - All families that are involved or interested in Lighthouse!
What to bring - Whether you pick up a pizza or bring some pb&j's, bring some dinner for your family! We will have one shelter of picnic tables available but we also encourage you to bring a picnic blanket or chairs in the event the shelter fills up and you want a place to sit! It also could be hot, so please bring water!
What to expect - Forest Ridge Park has an incredible playground so the kids mostly play the entire evening! Parents will have lots of opportunities to meet new and old friends! There will also be an Opportunities Fair where you will be able to explore all that Lighthouse has planned for this year. This is a great place to find out about events, clubs, and volunteer opportunities.
Lighthouse merchandise such as t-shirts, sweatshirts, car decals, etc, will be available for purchase. If you would like to pre-order merch to be picked up at the picnic please order here before 8/17. You must be signed in to your account to be able to order.
We will also be holding a raffle for some fun prizes!
Other Details - To celebrate Lighthouse’s 30th anniversary, the Board will be providing a sweet treat! There will be dairy and gluten free options available!
Parking Details - We have been asked by the park to try to consolidate cars as much as possible because of the limited parking. Detailed instructions on parking will be shared as we get closer to the picnic.
When signing up, please indicate how many people in your family will be attending!
If you would like a space at the opportunity fair for a club, event, or field trip you will be hosting this year, please sign up below and then contact [email protected] if you have any questions or specific requests!
We are asked to have some volunteers to help direct traffic and help with parking. If your husband is willing to do that, please sign up below under parking! Thank you!
