The Greensboro lighted Christmas balls originated in 1996 with the Smith family, who were inspired by a similar display. This event has since expanded to include a food drive for the Second Harvest Food Bank and a 5K race called the "Running of the Balls," aiming to support the community through donations and goodwill. We're delighted to invite Justin Smith and his family to the farm to lead this first-hand DIY experience. Guests will leave with their own lighted ball and the know-how to make plenty more. We'll provide the supplies, S'mores, and refreshments... you just need to bring yourself, canned good(s) to donate, and a little holiday spirit!
