Rumriver Art Center Presents a New Art Exhibition Opening in the 21 Step Gallery.
Anoka, MN - The 21 Step Gallery of Rumriver Art Center is excited to announce the opening of a new art exhibition; Life Up North by artist Lauren Russell. Russell is an emerging artist who is currently studying Studio Art and Art History at St. Olaf College. While she enjoys exploring a variety of artistic mediums, she finds gouache painting to be especially inspiring.
Life Up North is Lauren’s first solo exhibition, celebrating the beauty and character of Northern Minnesota. Through a series of expressive paintings, she captures the region’s natural landscapes, changing seasons, and cherished family memories. Vibrant colors and intentional brushwork invite viewers to immerse themselves in each scene and experience a personal connection to the places depicted. Through this collection, Lauren hopes to share the unique beauty and enduring spirit of Minnesota’s North.
Life Up North will be on view from July 25 through August 22, 2026. An opening reception with the artist will be held on July 25, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
PLEASE NOTE: We are located in a very old building, there are no elevators or escalators. The only way into the 21 Step Gallery is to climb up 18 stairs. We are continuously exploring options to make this gallery more accessible for everyone.
