About this Event
What is Life Review?
“Life Review: The Hospice Musical” is a new American musical about life and death in a hospice facility — and it's a comedy. Created by Benjamin Kintisch, a Cantor and hospice chaplain from Columbia, MD, it follows a young rabbi navigating his first year as the new chaplain at a residential hospice.
Audiences have laughed, cried, and called it life-changing.
Fans have described it as "funny and poignant," "Broadway-worthy," and "the most human show I've ever seen." It has performed at the Asheville Fringe Festival, the Charm City Fringe, and virtually from London — and it is a 2025 Maryland State Arts Council Creativity Grant recipient.
Why May 9 is special
This is not just a performance — it's a live album recording. For the first time, the full 16-song musical will be performed by a complete ensemble featuring five conservatory musicians from the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University, under the direction of Music Director and Orchestrator Kieran Casey.
Every song. Every character. One unforgettable night.
What to expect
An intimate 90-minute evening of original songs, humor, and genuine heart. Characters drawn from real hospice patients and the people who cared for them. A Broadway-caliber performance in a 140-seat theater. A room full of people who will leave thinking differently about life, legacy, and what we want to be remembered for.
Following the performance, there will be a dessert reception. For those who want to discuss the work, there will be optional small group discussions related to topics highlighted in the show.

1) “Spoiler alert!” - Dark humor and our shared mortality.
2) “Send Me a Sign!” - Theological Issues at End-of-Life.
