Life as Ritual: Caring for your Energetic Body

Compost Collective is excited to announce our first workshop in the Life as Ritual workshop series! This 3.5 hr workshop designed to give you the practices and rituals to cleanse and care for your energetic body and deepen your relationship with the earth and elements.

There was once a time when all humans understood that everything is energy. Land-based, animistic cultures around the world still know this, quantum physics is starting to explain it, perhaps something inside of you knows this is true.

In Traditional Mazatec Medicine, and in many other ancient healing modalities, energetic hygiene is everything. Caring for your energetic body is the foundation for health, vitality, and creativity.

In this workshop, you will learn routines and rituals that you can seamlessly integrate into your everyday life to cleanse your field, helping you to release stagnant, heavy, and/or dark energies. We will practice working with the unseen and connecting with the Earth in tangible, practical ways that you can use whether you’re on the 101 or hanging out in the Sierras.

This type of energetic cleansing can help you to:

• grow your connection to your intuition and self-trust
• deepen your connection with your heart
• re-connect with your true essence
• remember what it is you are here to do
• find greater self-acceptance and love
• clear your channel for greater creative flow
• feel lighter, more energized, clearer, etc.

Facilitator

Jenn Allen is a practitioner of Traditional Mazatec Medicine and spiritual integration coach. She was initiated into TMM in 2019 during a ceremony with a curandera, La Jefecita Panchita, in Oaxaca. She spent the preceding 5.5 years unknowingly in the initiatory phase of a shamanic apprenticeship, undergoing enormous spiritual transformation and integrating what she learned in her first ceremony. In Spring of 2025, she heeded the call to return to Oaxaca and was invited into 1:1 apprenticeship with Panchita. Jenn recognizes the enormity of this blessing, and is deeply honored to share it with her ever-growing community. (IG: @compost.me_)

What to bring: bring a blanket or yoga mat to sit/lay on, comfortable clothing, water, snacks, a notebook and pen, layers, sunscreen, and anything else to help you feel comfortable and grounded.

Who is this for: Anyone who wants to deepen their connection with their own energy field, the Earth, and the unseen. No experience in spiritual or energy work necessary.

Please note: Compost Collective makes anual contributions to the Mazatec community, as well as monthly contributions to local Tongva and Chumash orgs. There is a sliding scale of $100-150, as well as a few access tickets priced at $50. Whatever you are able to contribute helps support this work in the community and in Oaxaca.
