About this Event
Recently VDS hosted an art exhibit featuring the works of three men serving in federal Pr*son sentenced to death row titled, “The Art of Living on Death Row.” The exhibit raised important questions on issues of restorative justice, moral injury, systemic racism, and punishment and redemption. We want to extend these discussions—and this artwork—beyond the VDS walls, engaging in dialogue with neighbors, ministers, activists, family members, and those interested in learning more about the experience of living under a sentence of death in the United States today.
VDS is facilitating three intimate evening events at Frothy Monkey - Nations that will feature the artwork and panel discussions, interviews, and Q&A with experts in the field. The events will be facilitated by Dr. Graham Reside, Assistant Professor of Ethics and the Director of the Pr*son and Carceral Studies Program at Vanderbilt Divinity School.
Each evening will have a unique theme and feature conversations with special guests. Events are $12.00 and registration is required to attend. The event is free to attend for VDS students, alumni, faculty and staff.
