Join us for Library Quilt Week, a weeklong celebration of quilting artistry, regional traditions, and hands-on creativity from Monday, September 22, through Saturday, September 27. Featuring engaging events for all ages and skill levels, Quilt Week will showcase the talents of the Two Rivers Quilt Guild and highlight quilting as both an art form and a community tradition. Join us for a variety of interactive programs, exhibitions, and talks throughout the week.

The Great Easton Quilt Block Challenge (Main)
Monday, September 22, 6:00 - 7:30pm
Inspired by The Great British Baking Show, this event features five members of the Two Rivers Quilt Guild who will face off in a timed challenge to design and sew the best quilt block—using the same fabric and just 45 minutes. While the quilters are hard at work, the audience can enjoy refreshments, a presentation on the many styles and tools that contemporary quiltmakers use, beginner sewing machine stations, a hands-on quilt activity for more experienced sewers, and a patchwork paper-piecing game. At the end of the challenge, the audience will vote for the “Viewers’ Choice” winner. Five lucky attendees will receive a door prize of one of the blocks made into a pillow cover or table topper. Registration is recommended.

A Barn Quilt Journey with Mary Rigby (Main)
Wednesday, September 24, 6:30 - 7:30pm
Mary Rigby discovered her first barn quilt in Kentucky while on a 2013 road trip south. Her interests in quilting and photography became a passion for photographing these large painted wooden quilt blocks displayed on barns. She has traveled in many states, as well as in Canada, documenting these beautiful pieces of regional art. In this presentation, she will share a bit about the history of barn quilts, images of some of her photographs, and stories of her adventures while on the Barn Quilt Trails.

Quilt Exhibit (Main)
Saturday, September 27, 10:00am - 4:00pm
EAPL presents an exhibit of quilts made by the library’s quilt group, the Two Rivers Quilt Guild. Quilts in traditional and contemporary styles will be on display. There will also be an opportunity to purchase unique handmade items for yourself or as gifts. Admission is free. No registration is required.
