Join us as we honor the past, celebrate the present, and plant for the future at Liberty & Legacy: A Tree Planting & Celebration.
This special event commemorates 115 years of historic Convention Hall, a landmark that has served as a gathering place for generations of Sedalians. As we celebrate this milestone, we will also plant a Liberty Tree in Liberty Park as part of America's 250th anniversary celebration.
The tree will be planted in honor of George Whiteman, Sedalia's own Pearl Harbor hero who gave his life in service to our nation on December 7, 1941. The Liberty Tree serves as a living tribute to his sacrifice and a symbol of the freedom, courage, and resilience that continue to shape our community and country.
Together, we'll celebrate 115 years of history, honor a local hero, and plant a lasting legacy for future generations to enjoy!
Ceremony Begins at 5pm
Food Vendor Freedom Franks available for purchase
Free train rides 5:45pm - 7pm.
Free kids activities
