Liberation Celebration: Threads of Liberation – The Fabric of Our Truth
This fun-filled evening will feature art, fashion, poetry, music, adult beverages, light refreshments, and meaningful community connection as we celebrate the many ways liberation can be experienced through creativity, culture, truth, and self-expression. Guests will have the opportunity to meet artists, connect with community members, and engage in conversations that inspire understanding, empowerment, and belonging.
Honoring both Pride Month and Juneteenth, Threads of Liberation explores identity, resilience, authenticity, truth, and the many ways liberation can be experienced through visual art, fashion, poetry, music, and other creative forms. We proudly celebrate artists representing diverse, historically underrepresented, marginalized, and emerging perspectives. At its heart, this exhibition is about visibility, belonging, authenticity, and the power of creative expression. We believe every voice has value, every story matters, and every thread contributes to the fabric of our collective truth.
A special highlight of the evening will be our Liberation Fashion Experience, where designers and artists are invited to showcase wearable art and creative expression with freedom from the tethers of the traditional runway. This unique presentation encourages participants to reimagine fashion as storytelling, activism, identity, and art—breaking boundaries and creating space for authentic expression in all its forms.
Guests are encouraged to participate by wearing expressive fashion, wearable art, textiles, colors, or accessories that celebrate who they are. This is your opportunity to step beyond convention, embrace creativity, and join us in exploring freedom from the tethers of the traditional runway. Be fearless. Be seen. Be celebrated. Be liberated.
Please note that this is a standing-room reception designed to encourage movement, exploration, and connection throughout the gallery experience. Guests will have the opportunity to mingle with artists, experience the exhibition, engage with featured fashion presentations, and participate in conversations that celebrate creativity, culture, and liberation. Limited seating may be available for those requiring accommodations.
Presented in partnership with the LGBTQ+ Center Lake County, this event is free and open to adults ages 18 and older. Light refreshments are included. While there is no cost to attend, donations are encouraged and help advance the missions of our organizations by supporting opportunities for artistic expression, cultural engagement, inclusion, education, healing, advocacy, resources, and community impact.
Guests will also have the opportunity to purchase original artwork, fashion, and creative works featured throughout the exhibition. Every purchase directly supports participating artists while helping sustain the exhibitions, programs, and community initiatives of Dandelion Art Gallery & Studios. Whether through a donation, an art purchase, or simply joining us in celebration, your support helps strengthen a creative ecosystem that empowers artists, celebrates diverse voices, expands access to the arts, and fosters a more connected and inclusive community. Because liberation is not a journey we take alone—we are all in this together, and that is the power of liberation.
Join us for an evening of celebration, connection, inspiration, and collective liberation through the arts.
