They’d rather let us rot than lift a hand. So we lit the match.This ain’t some feel-good church lunch. What we’re doing is mutual aid that fights back.
We’re posted beneath the overpass on Charleston’s west side.
— Hot plates. No questions.
— “Shit-in-a-pot”, a struggle meal most poor folk know, but with a twist. Fruit stacked beside it, snacks ready.
— Groceries get packed up for whoever needs them.
— Narcan, clean gear, and hygiene kits keep people breathing.
— Math help reaches the kids this country abandoned.
— Workshops cover organizing, survival gardening, and holding ground when their systems snap.
— A mic wide open for every voice ready to roar.
This space belongs to those pushed out, erased, and ignored. Waiting ended the second we showed up.
Grief, rage, and power carry the night. Uniforms don’t cross this line. Campaign flyers belong in the trash. Guts carved this out of nothing. Purpose keeps it moving forward. Enough already spilled into the streets.
Bring people who’ve earned your trust. Step in carrying heat in your chest. Drag what they told you to bury straight into the light. Walk in with nothing. Leave full, loud, and burning from the core.
West Virginia Fights Back, and we’re only getting louder.
The Liberation Breakfast is held on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of every month.
