About this Event
Join us for an evening of confidence-building, practical self-defence skills, and community connection in a welcoming and supportive environment.
This special event has been created specifically for trans and non-binary people to learn self defence for FREE!
Led by Rae from The Alternative, the evening will introduce practical self-defence techniques that can help you feel more confident every day. No previous experience is required, and the session is designed to be beginner-friendly and inclusive.
Alongside the training, you'll have the opportunity to meet other members of the local LGBTQ+ community, enjoy complimentary refreshments and light bites, and learn more about Spectrum Outfitters. Our team will also be available throughout the evening to offer measuring services to help you choose the right size binder.
What to Expect
6:00 PM – Arrival & Welcome
- Check-in and consent forms
- Tea, coffee and refreshments
- Meet other attendees in a relaxed environment
6:30 PM – 7:30 PM – Self Defence Session One
- Introduction to key self-defence concepts
- Practical techniques and confidence-building exercises
7:30 PM – 8:00 PM – Social Break
- Complimentary light bites and refreshments
- Opportunity to chat with other attendees
- Optional binder measuring and fitting guidance from the Spectrum Outfitters team
8:00 PM – 9:30 PM – Self Defence Session Two
- Further practical training
- Scenario-based exercises
- Questions and discussion
