The Avow LGBTQ+ Bereavement Support Group addresses the unique challenges of navigating losses specific to the LGBTQ+ community.Topics addressed during the sessions will include:
• Creating meaning and value after the loss of a partner.
• Widowhood in the absence of familial, professional, and social support for the LGBTQ+ community, resulting in complicated grief.
• The unique psychosocial challenges of grief and loss when not socially endorsed by mainstream society.
• The personal journey of the grief and loss healing process.
The group is open to the public, and there is no cost to join.
