LGBTQ refugees fundraiser Join us at Poco Loco on the 24th of January 2026 for a night of live music and a jam session after the last band! All performers are part of the LGBTQ+ community and are passionate about all causes and supporting one another in any way they can.
This night in particular is a fundraiser for the Queer Refugees of South Sudan. These people have fled their homes and families due to the dangers of every day life- all because of who they are. We know all too well how hard it can be, so although it is a completely different situation it is also very similar in a sense. This is about staying together and uniting as a community.
We have been lucky enough to be in contact with one of the people who are living in this specific refugee camp, by doing regular weekly video calls. His name is Alex, and he has taken charge of spreading awareness and is doing the best he can to get help for his friends. Our aim is to help raise funds for these people so that they can access basic needs such as food and medicine. They experience the effects of violence every day and just want to get to safety to make a better life for themselves.
This event has been put on by LUNACY! (the queer punk band) who will be headlining the night. Opening the night is the amazing Shallot Shaw- doing her debut show! After the headliner set there will be a jam session that is open to everyone!
