LGBT Swimming Lessons (Dublin City Centre)

LGBT community members are invited to sign up for our 6 week swimming programme, taking place at Sean McDermott Pool, Dublin 1.

The course will begin on Wednesday 13th November 2024 at 7pm until 7:45pm and will run for 6 weeks at the same time each week.

There are three groups - beginners & improvers, intermediate and "swim a mile". You can decide which group you belong to at your first lesson. Each group has its own coach

Beginner & improver group is for people who can not swim or who are not strong swimmers. This group will not be out of their depth in water. The group has its own coach who is trained as a life guard.

Intermediate group is for people who can swim at least 50 meters on front and back stroke and are comfortable out of their depth in water without any flotation device.

The "swim a mile" group are training to swim a mile at an event in the pool in future (date to be confirmed). You should already be able to swim at least 100 meters on front and back stroke to join this group.

The length of the pool is 25 meters.

Places are limited so sign up early to avoid disappointment
