LEYLAND NATIONAL 53 - NATIONAL-ISATION
WHITEHAVEN 3-4 May, 2025
The 'National' in Leyland National, more generally Nationalisation and Standardisation. As well as the usual mix, including Leyland Nationals, we are looking for buses in NBC liveries (PLUS the SBG and PTEs). In addition there will be a contrast between more modern vehicles and earlier traditional half-cab buses. FREE bus services always prove popular during the weekend so in addition to our park and ride, town service and St Bees beach route, plus the brewery and countryside circuit which also takes in the former National factory at Lillyhall, we have added a feeder service from Cockermouth for coaches. There will also be more of a festival atmosphere than previous events with much going on along the harbour front, including the superb 'Eat Street Cumbria' street food village, a full fairground, vintage cars, a wide variety of stalls and activities and exhibitions.
