Alexey "Lex" Blokhin (after whom "Lexicon-Orchestra" is named) is one of the brightest figures on the Moscow music scene. A pianist, singer, and showman, he has been electrifying jazz stages for two decades with his multifaceted talent. "Lexicon Orchestra" was founded in Moscow in early 2003, and in 2006, Blokhin formed another band, "Lex and the Team," gaining fame for their unique interpretations of classic rock and roll and rockabilly, almost acrobatic performances by Lex, and an always powerful dose of musical positivity.
He plays in his signature style—a fiery blend of rock and roll and swing that transports audiences straight to the Prohibition-era streets of Chicago. He also performs neo-swing, a danceable evolution of early jazz that bridged the swing era into the rock and roll explosion of the 1950s.
Alexey Blokhin is, above all, a virtuoso pianist—but also a true multi-instrumentalist, mastering the double bass, guitar, and drums. His piano skills, however, are particularly dazzling. With a powerful voice and undeniable charm, he is a born showman who knows how to ignite any audience and create an electric connection with the crowd—leaving them no choice but to dance.
