Hear an inspirational message from Alex Sheen, founder of because I said I would, five-time TEDx speaker, author and nonprofit leader, in Lewis Center, Ohio, on October 22, 2026. A meet-and-greet and merchandise fundraiser follows the speech, supporting grieving families at our 92-acre camp’s resiliency and mental health retreats. Every $1,500 is equivalent to sponsoring one family.
Free private event for adults 18 and older. Space is very limited. The exact address is shared only with confirmed attendees. Register on the official event page; a Facebook RSVP does not reserve your spot.
VOLUNTEER + ATTEND: Help set up and run the merchandise/meet-and-greet table, accept donations with a simple credit card machine, and pack up afterward. Each volunteer helps raise about $500. Volunteers may attend the speech, receive a free because I said I would T-shirt, and have parking fees reimbursed.
Schedule: 8:00–8:15 AM arrival; 8:15–8:30 AM locate boxes; 8:30–9:00 AM setup; 9:00–10:00 AM speech; 10:00–10:30 AM merchandise table; 10:30–11:00 AM pack up; 11:00–11:15 AM load boxes into Alex’s car.
GUEST OPTION (no volunteering): Arrive at 8:45 AM for the 9:00–10:00 AM speech.
