What is a DOMINANT DUO (Two-Player Team format)?
Players are paired with a partner and play singles and doubles as a team. Players will be placed in position 1 or position 2 for singles based on their ranking or rating, and then the pair will play together for doubles.
***PLAYERS ARE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED TO REGISTER FOR A L6 DOMINANT DUO EVENT WITH A PARTNER*** Priority selection goes to registered pairs. In the event that the draw does not fill with registered pairs, individual registrants may be selected and will be randomly paired after registration closes.
Draw and Match Format:
Draw limits: Maximum 8 teams (16 players) per division. Additional teams may be accepted after registration close
Draws will be compass draws OR round robins depending on the number of teams in each event.
Depending on the number of registrants, singles shall be either 2 out of 3 short sets (sets to 4, tiebreak at 4-4) with a 7 point tiebreak in lieu of a third set; or a Superset to 6 games with a 7 point tiebreaker at 6-6, No ad scoring. Doubles may be 2 out of 3 Short Sets (sets to 4, tiebreak at 4-4) with a 7 point tiebreak in lieu of a third set; a Superset to 8 games with a 7 point tiebreak at 8-8; a Single Set 6 games with a 7 point tiebreaker at 6-6, or one short set to 4 games with a 7 point tiebreak at 4-4, all matches shall be No ad scoring.
