About this Event
This course is aimed anyone involved in sport or physical activity that may need to administer emergency first aid. This will take place at the University of Worcester St Johns Campus. This course is for people aged 18+ and predominantly covers first aid for adults.

This course will take place at the University of Worcester (in person) on Tuesday 4th November 2025, 09:45am - 16:45pm.
Delivery will be with accredited instructor.
Cost:
Standard ticket: £95.00 - If you do not meet the subsidised criteria below
Subsidised Ticket: £30.00 - Active Herefordshire and Worcestershire are partially subsidising the cost of this course as an investment in people within the region who are either working in the sporting industry or want to enter the sporting industry and require this essential qualification to do so.
Student Ticket: £30.00 - This is the same criteria as the subsidised ticket, offered as CPD opportunities to students at the University of Worcester.
Eligibility for the subsidised ticket:
Participants are asked to declare that they are either employed, voluntary, or trainee role that they consider positively impacts individuals in the community (within the Herefordshire and Worcestershire region), to benefit their health and wellbeing.
To qualify for the subsidy you must be based within the Herefordshire and Worcestershire region and working to:
> Improve physical activity and tackling inequalities
> Improve outcomes within communities with high levels of deprivation
> Supporting individuals with physical or mental health challenges
There are a some general questions to answer at the Eventbrite registration check out to assess this funding eligibility.
Places are limited so if you can commit to attending, book early to secure your place.

Course information:
The FAA Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF) is a nationally recognised qualification designed for those who have a specific responsibility at work, to provide first aid in a range of emergency first aid situations. It is also ideal for people who have a specific responsibility to provide basic first aid in voluntary and community activities.

+ Assessing an incident
+ Managing an unresponsive casualty
+ CPR and defibrillation
+ Recovery Position
+ Choking
+ Seizures
+ Shock
+ Wounds and bleeding
+ Minor injuries
+ Cuts, grazes and bruises
Certification:
There is a questionnaire at the end of the session and a practical assessment.
You are able to share any physical or learning support needs via the Eventbrite or you can discuss these in advance with the training Instructor. Please contact [email protected] if you have any queries.
A three year qualification will be issued to those who meet the criteria of the assessments that will be reviewed by the instructor.
The HSE strongly recommends that all students undergo an annual refresher programme of three hours.

Cancellation & Refund Policy:
As this course is being partially subsidised by Active Herefordshire and Worcestershire, please only book on if you can commit to attending the session, so as not to take up a space as they are limited.
If you do need to cancel please let us know as soon as you are able, so that we can re-allocate the place.
Once you have booked your place, if you cancel with MORE than 7 days notice. You will be refunded the ticket cost MINUS the Eventbrite fees.
If you cancel within 7 days, it is Active Herefordshire and Worcestershire's discretion as to whether a full or partial refund would be issued and evidence may be required to assess the validity.
Please note, we are a small charity so any refund requests may take up to 14 days to process.
